Human trafficking is a crime that exploits women, children, and men for numerous purposes including forced labour and sex. The United Nations reports that sexual exploitation is the most common form of exploitation (59%) in trafficking in persons. The selling and consumption of sexual services are violent, demeaning, and undermines the dignity of women, men, and children. Furthermore, it fails to recognize and uphold their inherent worth, created in the image of God. In Canada, there is an over-representation of Indigenous women and children, as documented in the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and BC’s Highway of Tears.

The 2021 Canadian Sexual Exploitation Summit (CSES) is a free online conference taking place on May 6-7. CSES brings together more than 50 expert speakers who will present the latest research, innovative strategies, and lessons helpful for leaders from every sector.

Why do we need a Canadian Sexual Exploitation Summit?

  • To unite organizations and individuals in Canada who are fighting sexual exploitation.
  • To create an opportunity for networking and strategizing.
  • To fuel a movement towards collective action and ground-breaking strategies against sexual exploitation in Canada.

Here is a preview of some of the sessions covered during the Summit:

We invite you to prayerfully consider attending even just one of the virtual sessions. Invite a friend, a colleague, someone in your life group. And then pray and seek how God might be leading you to take one step in raising awareness, providing aid, and being an advocate. Register now.
