Ongoing care is one of the best ways a church can serve the missionaries she has sent out. Whether that is caring for singles, couples, or families, there are unique ways that we can minister to those serving overseas. While they are thriving, we can encourage them, and while they are persevering through difficulties, we can guide, shepherd, and care for them. The Austin Stone team has worked hard to grow in their ability to care for missionaries from the local church both from the states as well as on the field.

About Our Speaker

Laura Bess, Goer Care Manager

The Austin Stone Community Church

Laura is a firm believer that the work of sending isn’t finished when a missionary’s plane takes off. When a sending church waves goodbye to its missionaries, thingsĀ are just getting started! Laura served as a cross-cultural worker in Europe for five years, where she had the joy of caring for other missionaries sent out from her church. She is now stateside, continuing in this work by serving her church’s sent ones while they are stateside and supporting those who have returned indefinitely through their re-entry process.
