Sabbath Rest is one of the great gifts of God to His children, yet the forces that drive us toward busy-ness can be powerful and overwhelming. Join us as Catherine M. Kelly leads us on a two-day retreat on the need for Sabbath-keeping, its vital relationship to self-care, and ways to incorporate this practice into our busy lives. Catherine will introduce the scriptural and historical background on Sabbath-keeping as well as contemporary spiritual writers’ suggestions on the meaning and practice of Sabbath for modern-day believers. The retreat includes ample opportunity to rest in the Lord, quiet time for prayer and reflection, take-home prayer materials, optional small group faith sharing, and optional one-on-one spiritual accompaniment with the director.
About Catherine M. Kelly:
Catherine M. Kelly, M.Div. is an experienced spiritual director, gifted teacher, and retreat facilitator in several areas, including Ignatian spirituality and discernment, the Way of Light, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, The Name of God is Mercy, and Sabbath-Keeping & Self-Care. Catherine accompanies individuals through Ignatius of Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises in daily life and in general spiritual direction. A wife, mother of boys, and former attorney, editor and grant writer, Catherine is passionate about seeking and finding God in all things.
