It’s time again to plan our Christmas project volunteers! We have several opportunities for you to help, details below. Please email us at [email protected] to sign up for anything that you’d like to volunteer for. And thank you!
#1 – INVENTORY COUNT
Location: KCM Canada Warehouse 20135 93a Ave Langley
December 8 at 9:30am – until finished (approx. 2 hours) – Toy inventory count. This one is an adult only task. (20 people max)
#2 CHRISTMAS GIFT BOX PACKING
Location: North Surrey High School – 15945 96 Ave Surrey
December 12 at 8:30am until finished (approx. 2 – 4 hours) – Load in and set up For safety reasons, this is an adult and teens (13+) only task. (50 people max)
December 12 at 2pm until finished (approx. 2 – 3 hours) – Gift Box Packing (Max 100 adults and 50 kids). Just a note that any kids packing boxes must be supervised by an adult. The quality control and box wrapping stations will only be for adult volunteers. The kids usually love running the boxes from place to place anyway – and we love them doing that!
December 12, at 2pm until finished (approx 3 – 5 hours) – Building the pallets (max 16 people). This team creates the specific groupings of boxes for each school, shrink wraps and loads them into the trucks. Some muscle required! For safety reasons, no kids can participate in this part of the process.
December 12, at 4pm until finished (approx 1 – 2 hours) Tear down and clean up . Kids are welcome! (max 30 people)
#3 CHRISTMAS HAMPER PACKING
Location – Sonrise Church – 5588 188 St Surrey
Baking – Home baking is a special piece that we like to include in these hampers. We aim to include 1 dozen cookies or squares in each hamper, to be dropped off at Sonrise Church Dec. on December 13 between 9am and 5pm (or bring them with you at 6:30pm if you’re coming to pack hampers). We’ll need about 450 dozen (please package them by the dozen) Let us know if you’d like to join the baking team!
December 13 at 9am until finished (approx. 2 hours) – Load in – Loading in the food from the delivery trucks, setting up tables. Some muscle required. For safety reasons, adults only for this task. (Max 10 people)
December 13 at 1pm until finished (approx. 1 – 2 hours) Set Up – Unloading food from boxes and setting up the assembly line. Kids are welcome. (Max 30 people)
December 13 at 6:30 pm until finished – Hamper assembly – (Max 50 people). Kids are welcome but will need to be working with an adult to ensure that the hampers are carefully packed.
