About this event

The Communities of Care Training is a series of 90-minute sessions that cover foundational knowledge for anyone supporting people experiencing acute vulnerabilities. These sessions are intended to inspire new and existing staff and volunteers at food, shelter, and other supportive programs to:

• Have a biblical framework for following God into life-giving mutuality with marginalized individuals

• Use language and postures that support dignity, care, healing, and belonging

• Adopt practices that protect vulnerable people from further dependency or marginality

• Institute necessary self-care practices for resiliency and longevity

• Gain skills for responding to typical scenarios and legal requirements in one’s local context

Complete all 6 sessions and receive a UGM Communities of Care Certificate
