Complex Communities: Concepts and Tools for Better Conflict

Conflict is one of the most prevalent and destructive realities in Christian communities.  Every year ministries are crippled, ministers are damaged and congregations are split –all due to conflict that was handled poorly.

However, there is hope!  Practical skills grounded in theory and theology are helping an increasing number of God’s people to leverage what God is trying to accomplish through conflict.

This seminar will offer participants “Mediator tools” and theory to increase capacity for effective biblical peacemaking.  The material can also be adapted for sermons and small groups.

  • The 5 conflict styles
  • The physiology of conflict

Doing

  • Tools for managing others in an escalated state
  • The mediated conversation
  • Our reason for biblical peacemaking –What’s the point?
