A powerful concert that speaks to justice, equality and peace. Featuring gospel singer, Crystal Hicks.

Gospel music played a significant role in the Civil Rights Movement. Gospel artists took a stand for equal rights and joined with musicians in the folk and popular music genres to share the messages of equality and justice.  Once again, in our present day, we look again to what it means to “be free”, to be reminded that there is still work to do so that all are treated with dignity and respect.

Good Noise will bring the music of the Civil Rights Movement as well as songs of today’s artists that speak to standing up for something – music by Stevie Wonder, Sting, Andra Day, Common, Marvin Gaye, John Legend, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Cooke and others.

Crystal Hicks again joins Good Noise for this concert. Her passionate and dynamic singing along with her powerful stage presence will bring the music and the message of justice, peace, respect and love – and the challenge to all to stand up for something.  “Let the ways of love be the ways man.”

When you think of Crystal Hicks and her amazing gospel voice, you think Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin – all rolled up into one unique and dynamic voice. Crystal’s singing career began in her home country of the Bahamas where, as a teenager, she won the “Best Female Recording Artist” award. From that early start, Crystal established herself as a powerhouse singer with a focus on gospel music, Soul and R&B. Known for her dynamic stage presence, Hicks has performed with the Toronto Mass Gospel Choir, the Canadian Tenors and the Vancouver Symphony. Crystal has performed throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and the Philippines and is currently a member of the 8-piece band Horizon, performing a wide range of music from gospel to R&B, Jazz and Blues.
