ABOUT THE LECTURE

In this Evening Public Lecture, New Testament scholar and Chair of the Committee on Bible Translation Douglas Moo shares his perspective on translating Scripture from its original languages into modern English.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Douglas Moo is Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College, where he has taught since 2000. He previously taught at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Douglas chairs the Committee on Bible Translation, the team of scholars who supervise the NIV Bible. He and his wife, Jenny, have five children and thirteen grandchildren and enjoy travel and photography.

Dr Moo is teaching Four Short Letters from Paul (covering Colossians, Philippians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians) from May 23 to June 3 as part of Regent’s 2022 Summer Programs.

FORMAT AND ATTENDANCE

Regent intends to offer this lecture as a live event in the College’s chapel. Under current provincial policies, this event will not require attendees to show proof of vaccination. Please be aware, however, that Regent’s event protocols will follow the guidelines in place on the event date.

This lecture will also be streamed live online, and we look forward to being joined by friends from around the world. A recording will be available for a limited time after the event.
