Dr. Barth Netterfield, who is the leading cosmologist in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto, is a devoted Christian for whom the study of the stars and distant galaxies increases his awe and wonder at the majesty of the Creator. He has just returned from the Antarctic where he and his research team launched a balloon-borne set of telescopes as part of the SPIDER project that is designed to peer into the furthest reaches of the universe from above earth’s atmosphere (read about it in the UofT Magazine and watch this clip of the launch).

Dr. Netterfield will talk about his current research, share his personal story, and entertain questions from the audience.

Location: Trinity Western University’s Fosmark Centre, Room 130-131.

Sponsored by ACTS Seminaries, Institute for Christian Apologetics, TWU’s Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, the Canadian Scientific & Christian Affiliation and the Vancouver Area Science & Religion Forum. For more information contact Dr. Rob Hiebert (tel. 604-888-7511 ext. 3842).
