We Are Called To Act

Author of a forthcoming book on Pope Francis, Dr. Austen Ivereigh will be speaking about the link between Catholic Social Teaching and community organizing.  The event, ‘Catholic Social Teaching, Pope Francis and The Call to Action’, will be held at St. Mary’s Parish School from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

Dr. Austen Ivereigh is a journalist, author, campaigner, and the founder and coordinator of Catholic Voices. He was a former deputy editor of The Tablet and later Director for Public Affairs of the former Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor.

Dr. Austen Ivereigh has a belief that Roman Catholic  social and moral teaching can have a positive effect on the wider society. In his talk, he will consider how the work of organizations like Metro Vancouver Alliance and London Citizens – alliances of trade unions, churches, mosques and  others – can build upon themes to be found in Papal teachings. For more information, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
