Holy Eucharist and Mystical Experience
A day of devotion, contemplation and musical reflection

For those with eyes to see and open hearts, the Holy Eucharist (the Mass, the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion) draws us into the Presence of Jesus Christ in a unique and powerful way. This half day retreat shall explore the practical and mystical dimensions of the Eucharist, and lead participants to experience these through devotional and sacramental practices.

Music has a special place in the life and worship of the Church. Olivier Messiaen composed many pieces dedicated to the experience of the Sacrament which he described as: ‘The Ecstasies of the Soul before the Glories of Christ.’ The retreat will use music, as well as words, to draw participants deeper in to the powerful and mysterious reality of Jesus’ self-giving to us in the Eucharist and Holy Communion.

This is a retreat for the rationalists as well as the mystics among us – For those who attend Mass weekly and for those who have never made their Communion. Come, let us experience the Lord’s presence in our midst, and his power to bring transformation and new life.
