Our Purpose
To provide hot meals, groceries, clothing and bedding to the poor living and homeless located in the greater Vancouver area.
To encourage members who seek to be practical examples of God’s love by building caring non-judgmental relationships with the homeless and the poor and reaching out to them in their area of need.
To seek to work in cooperation with other local organizations and churches to provide a network of resources that we can make available to the homeless and the poor, so that they can receive help in overcoming the challenges that they face. To build healthy physical and spiritual support structures for their lives.
Programs
As the number of “recently homeless” individuals living in poor conditions in downtown areas continues to grow, we are there to help. There exists a critical need for outreach programs and services offering hope and care to those who are drowning in depression, despair and poverty. Freshwave specifically focuses on serving the needs of these people who are down on the streets.
Due to the mobile and street-based nature of Freshwave, staff and volunteers interact directly with the marginalized in their own environment. This provides a level of familiarity, comfort and credibility with those being served which leads to relationships based upon trust. This is a key factor in addressing the complex issues behind poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and substance abuse. Freshwave ministries are able to offer individuals hope, in what seems like hopeless circumstances. A hope that is desperately needed in our community.
