Join us at Canadian Memorial United Church on the corner of Burrard St. and 15th Ave on Tuesday, December 9, 7-9 PM for this free event.Amal Elsana Alh’jooj is a Bedouin Palestinian feminist, peace activist, and community organizer. She has organized grassroots movements promoting universal access to rights and social justice in the Global South, and civil society projects around issues of minority rights in Israel, particularly for women and indigenous peoples.

Alh’jooj is an Associate Professor at McGill University’s School of Social Work and the Executive Director of PLEDJ (Promoting Leadership for Empowerment, Development and Justice).

  1. The title for this presentation while inspirational – UN has failed at it – is a bit ambiguous. Grounding Peace in Justice & Liberation – of course, but a broad topic. Hopefully the speaker will speak more specifically on the the plight of Palestine and its people . . . ?
