It’s always a delight to have Candus and her band in the house every February. We hope you can join us this Wednesday. If you can’t make it in person, the link for our live stream or to watch later is here.
Our reflection this week will be based on a passage from the writings preserved by the Isaiahan community in Jerusalem, following the return of some of the descendents of the exiles sent to Babylon three generations earlier. It’s a vision of restoration of a SHALOM (a comprehensive peace) very different from what was actually happening at the time. “Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in.” (Is 58:12) The prophets have long been an inspiration for black movements against dehumanization, a resistance we need to revive today for the well-being of all peoples.
