Angela Verbrugge
Angela Verbrugge is a Vancouver-based vocalist specialized in performing popular and lesser known jazz standards, traditional pop, Latin and bossanova songs. A former actress, she delivers charismatic and heart-felt performances or favourite standards alongside her own compositions and original lyrics inspired by her lyricist role models such as Ira Gerschwin, Cole Porter and Dave Frishberg. She is joined by 6-time Juno nominee, pianist John Stetch has recently moved to Vancouver from NYC. The Edmonton-native pushes the edges of his jazz and classical training to fuse melodies and rhythms from around the world. He has performed at Mezzrow, Smoke, Birdland, the Jazz Standard and just released his 15th album. Steve Holy has appeared with a virtual who’s who of jazz in Vancouver and is a mainstay on the scene. Capilano-graduate Kristian Braathen is a professional drummer, percussionist and educator who has worked in the music industry for 21 years.
Service: Attendees can expect a classic vocal jazz aesthetic with piano trio performed with heart and soul by these sensitive and playful musicians.
