This month, we welcome Asef with Saul Berson as our guest artists for Jazz Vespers! Asef is a Vancouver-based ensemble that fuses Middle Eastern music with jazz improvisation, creating a distinctive and culturally rich sound. Led by veteran saxophonist Saul Berson, the group features Itamar Erez (guitar), Sam Shoichet (bass), and Liam Macdonald (drums/percussion). With influences spanning Balkan folk, tango, klezmer, flamenco, and bebop, Asef offers audiences a unique and uplifting musical journey.
