GREG ROBERTS: WHERE IS GOD WHEN THE BOTTOM FALLS OUT?

Grief, disappointment, disaster—each of us must face a certain amount of darkness in our lives. Where will you find hope when it’s your turn?

Local business leader and entrepreneur Greg Roberts has lived through some of these deep valleys. In 2016, his beloved wife of 16 years passed away, leaving him with 3 young children to raise on his own—while continuing to lead a successful catering and event production business.

ABOUT GREG

A graduate of The Dubrulle French Culinary and Hospitality School, Greg opened “Let’s Do Lunch” café in 1995. To meet the café’s growing number of requests for catering services, he founded “A Catered Affair Hospitality” shortly thereafter, and broadened his scope to include event production. In 2008, Greg ventured into real estate acquisition, founding Hanalei Holding Corp.

He married Jennifer in 2000, and together they had three children: Chloe (21) , Luke (17) & Audrey (13). In 2016, Jennifer passed away from breast cancer, and Greg was faced not only with immense grief, but with raising their three young kids on his own, and all the pressures of continuing to lead his companies.

In 2022, Greg decided to close A Catered Affair, retiring early to concentrate on being a full-time parent.

Today, Greg still loves Jesus with all his heart, and his faith has been described as “vibrant” and “vivid”. Greg actively serves his church community as a member at the Surrey campus of Village Church. He hosts a community group and leads the Grief Share Ministry, offering support to others dealing with loss. He is regularly walked by a labradoodle named Lucy.
