Join us for a Places That Matter virtual plaque presentation on June 17th celebrating the history and stories of the Mennonite Maids: Daughters in the City.
Between 1931 and 1961, over 2000 young Mennonite daughters worked as maids in Vancouver homes.
The virtual presentation will include historical context and stories by the author of Daughters in the City Ruth Derksen Siemens and the Mennonite Museum Society’s Director, Richard Thiessen. We will present the Places That Matter plaque and share details of its installation in South Vancouver.
