About The Series:

Psalms for All Ages” is an initiative of Carey Institute’s Centre for Worship Studies (CWS) to offer a series of workshops and seminars to equip pastors, worship leaders and key lay people in planning and leading worship services that minister to congregation members of all ages.

This series will generate a much-needed opportunity to discuss, examine, and learn about inter-generational worship, for the benefit of local churches from a variety of denominations and ethic backgrounds. Through the study of different types of Psalms, we hope to expand the congregation’s repertoire in corporate worship.

Topics:

  • Ministering to congregation members of different ages and ethnic backgrounds within a single worship service
  • Ways to minimize the distance between the pastor and the lay worship leaders who plan the other parts of the worship service
  • Encouraging healthy dialogue about worship within our church communities
  • Worship planning as a significant factor in the spiritual formation

After she married her husband Jose Figueroa, they moved to Edmonton and served as the children’s pastor in various churches. Luz and her family moved to Florida in 2005 to continue serving with the International Network of Children’s Ministries. Luz is also the founder and director of Entre Niños, a ministry dedicated to train, equip, and resource parents, educators, and children’s leaders. In 2009, Luz and her family moved to Vancouver, BC to serve at First Baptist Church before answering the call to serve at Tenth Avenue Alliance.

Diane Sekuloff- has been involved with using the arts in a worship context for over 30 years.  With a background in dance, drama and movement, she has found that embodying scripture brings it to life in the presently lived experience of believers.  Diane works as an occupational therapist, and has recently completed graduate work in dance/movement therapy.
