Reduce the Demand for Buying Sex

Canada’s current law criminalizes the buyers of sex. The challenge we face today is the enforcement of this law in order to reduce the demand for buying of sex.

Seattle and other cities across Canada and the USA are implementing a Demand Reduction Model to reduce commercial sexual exploitation. This model focuses on the participants in these crimes who do have a choice: the buyers who drive demand.

Hear from Valiant Richey, former Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for King County, Seattle, who will be sharing his experience of working on the demand side of this exploitation and educating the public on strategies for enforcement. Valiant Richey also sheds light on who these buyers are.
