Christianity in the Crosshairs
We look forward to you joining Christian school leadership teams from all across British Columbia and beyond for our 16th annual SCSBC Leadership Conference. This year, we welcome special guest Dr. Bob Kuhn as we explore the topic of Christianity in the Crosshairs.
Christian schools operate on the provision of freedom of religion under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Increasingly religious-based schools across Canada are facing legal challenges to this provision as the rights of other groups or individuals interface with religious rights. What are the issues that are currently being challenged? What are the issues that are likely to be challenged in the future? How can school boards “protect and direct” in the face of these challenges?
Bob Kuhn, president of Trinity Western University, is well equipped to speak to these issues and to help us get the lay of the land as we lead our schools into the future.
