This conference promises to promote valuable tools needed to evangelize and disciple the growing number of peoples and nations making Canada their home. Presenters will share transferable principles and valuable insights from their vast and proven ministry experience, across Canada.

Keynote Address:

Share the Light

Dr. T.V. Thomas, Chairman, Lausanne Global Diaspora Network

Originally from Malaysia, T.V. Thomas has studied, taught, mentored and networked in academic and trans-denominational settings around the world. He is the founder and director of Centre for Evangelism and World Mission in Regina. He serves as the Multicultural/ Intercultural Ministries Consultant for The Alliance Canada. Along with his Lausanne responsibilities, he serves on several committees and boards passionately facilitating evangelism and mission across Canada. T.V. and his wife, Mary, have three adult children.

Pathways to Jesus for Immigrants in Your Neighbourhood

Rick & Patti Love

Rick & Patti have a passion to help new immigrants to Canada learn about the Lord Jesus. Rick (Ph.D.) taught at seminaries in the Philippines and Canada before becoming Director of “Love New Canadians”, a ministry that equips local churches for ministry with immigrants through seminars, coaching, and curriculum. Patti (M.A. TESL) has served as Pastor of Intercultural Ministries at Foothills Alliance Church in Calgary since 2006.

Rev. Dr. Elias Mutale

Rev. Dr. Elias A. Mutale became Christ’s follower in 1975 in his native Zambia. He says, “When our family relocated to Canada, we had to build as well as find community. Community building is essential for healthy lifestyles and development of children.” Elias pastors Timberlea Baptist Church in Halifax, a place where God and community meet. His community extends to Halifax soccer. He is married to Sheena and has four daughters.

Starting an
ESL Ministry

Colin Brewster

Colin Brewster has been teaching English to non-native speakers for over 40 years. He began teaching in Turkey, continued in North West China, and for the past 20 years, he has taught Communications and English as a Second Language in community colleges in Toronto. Colin is also involved in the ESL outreach of Trinity Grace Church, Toronto where he enjoys developing and testing different teaching tools and materials for church-based ESL programs.

Conference schedule:

1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Introduction and keynote address with Dr. T.V. Thomas

1:30 to 3:45 p.m. Registrants will choose from one of three options:

Track 1: Rick & Patti Love – Pathways to Jesus for Immigrants in Your Neighbourhood
Track 2: Elias Mutale – Building New Immigrant Communities
Track 3: Colin Brewster – Starting an ESL Ministry

3:45 to 4:00 p.m. Wrap up
