Swapping Roles: A “Position Exchange” Dialogue
Join Erin Thrift & your colleagues who run (or volunteer) with neighborhood food programs to dialogue about how the way we design our charitable operations affects how people involved with them relate to one another and develop as individuals. Erin will briefly present theories that support the move from service- provider/client model to a more egalitarian/participatory model in charitable operations – as “clients” exchange positions with “volunteers and staff” so that everyone shares in making decisions, learning and helping one another.
