TEEN MUSICAL THEATRE SUMMER INTENSIVE 2014
Theatre in the Country is excited to offer a summer theatrical experience for young people that provides opportunity to grow in the creative arts of acting, singing and dancing. This program will culminate in a full scale production of the world class musical – Les Miserables!

Program will run from 10am – 4pm Monday to Friday
Dates: July 1-26
Located at our theatre space on 272nd in Whonnock at the North Fraser Events Centre
Early Registration Cost: $850.00/student
Maximum of 40 students in program
Week One: General skills training, assessment and show auditions
Week Two: Instruction based rehearsals in music, theatre and dance for Les Mis
Week Three: More rehearsal with lighting, sound, props, costumes
Week Four: Production Week!
Our goal with this program is to provide a safe and interesting place for young people have a professional level theatrical experience. It will be an intense time of creativity and collaboration in the arts. All students who wish to be on stage will be given a role in the show, and those who prefer to work behind the scenes or with technical equipment will be given specific jobs to fill. There will also be time spent on costumes, hair, make-up and sets.
The show will be performed to a fully orchestrated professional sound track and under a brand new fully LED stage lighting system. Our location at the North Fraser Events center has plenty of rooms to work in, and will allow us to split the class into small groups so they are consistently active and have quality time with instructors.

The teen intensive will be overseen by Theatre in the Country’s Artistic Director, Reg Parks. He will teach the acting portions of the program and direct the production of Les Mis. Reg has over 30 years experience as an actor, director and producer and theatre arts teacher. He holds an MA in Theatre.
