With five Grammy Awards, thousands of sold-out performances and millions of record sales worldwide, blues-rock icon Robert Cray is considered “one of the greatest guitarists of his generation”. Rolling Stone credits Robert with reinventing the blues with his “distinct razor sharp guitar playing” that “introduced a new generation of mainstream rock fans to the language and form of the blues” with the release of his album, Strong Persuader in 1986. Since then he has gone on to record fifteen Billboard charting studio albums and has written or performed with such artists as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Lee Hooker. Recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, Robert is one of the youngest living legends to receive the prestigious honour.

Multiple Grammy Award winner Mavis Staples first arrived on the scene as a member of the Staples Singers whose voices provided the living soundtrack to the Civil Rights Movement in the early 70’s with such anthems as “Respect Yourself” and “Let’s Do It Again”. Mavis also began her solo career at the same time releasing eight albums during the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. In 2004, she released Have a Little Faith – her first album in eight years — which received rave reviews paving the way for Mavis to achieve a later career renaissance with the album, We’ll Never Turn Back in 2007 and Live: Hope at the Hideout the following year. Her most recent album, You Are Not Alone won a Grammy Award for Best Americana Album. She was named by Rolling Stone as one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” and by VH1 as among the “100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll”.
