Join us Thursday, September 21 in Rm 13 for a poetry reading by Canadian poet and translator Burl Horniachek. Burl will read from his anthology, To Heaven’s Rim: The Kingdom Poets Book of World Christian Poetry—Beginnings to 1800, in English Translation.
ABOUT THE ANTHOLOGY
This global collection of poetry features prominent Christian poets from Syria, Armenia, Europe, Ethiopia, China, the Philippines, and Mexico who are likely to be unfamiliar to readers in the West. To Heaven’s Rim includes translations from Christian poets such as A.E. Stallings, Rowan Williams, and Scott Cairns as well as translations by Canadian poets such as Governor General’s Award winner Jan Zwicky, O.C., Joanne Epp, Sally Ito, and Sarah Klassen.
This public event will be hosted by Jonathan Anderson, the Eugene and Jan Peterson Associate Professor of Theology and the Arts at Regent College.
