Christmas time is carol time, too. The Christmas spirit can be expressed in so many ways: gently, robustly, ceremonially, intimately, poetically, grandly, angelically, rustically, liturgically or by the simplest song or phrase. Kevin Zakresky leads the Vancouver Chamber Choir in a banquet of seasonal music, with a cameo appearance from Fiona Blackburn and the British Columbia Girls Choir. There’s Renaissance Christmas music by Palestrina, de Rore, Lassus and Willaert; a French touch from Francis Poulenc; and many familiar carols from your favourite composers and arrangers — all telling the most beloved story of the ages!

Peter Wilhousky (arr. Fiona Blackburn) – Carol of the Bells
Stephen Chatman – A Christmas Lullaby
Stephen Hatfield – The Virgin Mary had a baby boy
Stephen Smith – Yorkshire Wassail
Jon Washburn – The Sparrow’s Christmas (Varpunen jouluaamuna)
Stephen Smith – Lo, how a rose e’er blooming
Jean Coulthard – Polish Lullaby
Stephen Chatman – Angels we have heard on high
Healey Willan – The Three Kings
Elmer Iseler – Away in a manger
Kevin Zakresky – Hark! the herald angels sing (*premiere)
