The 2025 VST Chancellor’s Dinner is a gathering of invested individuals who recognize the enduring need for theological education to be thoughtful, engaged, and generous, and who are courageously choosing to create that future.

Benjamin Perrin, Professor of Law at the University of British Columbia, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Chancellor’s Dinner. The title of his keynote is Jesus, Justice & Mercy.

His research and teaching interests include criminal law, constitutional law, international law, and artificial intelligence. Ben served in the Prime Minister’s Office as in-house legal counsel, and lead criminal justice and public safety policy advisor. Ben is the author of policy papers, journal articles, and several books, including: Indictment: The Criminal Justice System on Trial (UTP, 2023) and Overdose: Heartbreak and Hope in Canada’s Opioid Crisis (Penguin, 2020). He is a follower of Jesus Christ.

The evening will also feature music from the VST community.
