We begin at First United corner then, secondly, move eastward to that noisy, challenging Hastings & Main corner and include at least some due pauses at or nods to Carnegie Community Ctre and its very intense, varied frontĀ steps’ crowds + nearby The Dugout Drop-In Ctre, still being tossed to & fro in waiting for a permanent abode.
Thirdly, pause again at The Listening Post but add the work of nearby, virtually adjacent Aboriginal Front Door to our then list of paying respect.
Fourthly, get back to the interesting intersection of Gore and Cordova and its 3-4 places of signs/sighs of life/death. That is: Firehall Theatre; site of assisted housing/former Pretrial Jail and still Community Court; now for sale Sunshine Market and its free laneway Salad bowl; and front entrance and symbolic of that Anglo-Catholic’s street ministry.
Finally, carry on from there over to Oppenheimer Park and that tall “sobriety” pole near the south-east corner.
In the peace of Christ and pace of Lent:
