“Is it safe to trust God’s love?” It’s a question I wrestled with as I followed God to Afghanistan, and then as I came home four years later, too sick to continue my work as a doctor. “It is safe to trust God’s love—safe enough to risk? Safe enough even to rest?”
Many of you have heard bits and pieces of my story over the fourteen years I’ve been at First Baptist Church. Many of you have prayed and encouraged through my long journey toward healing. Thank you. I am deeply grateful. And I’m delighted to finally be able to share more of my story of God’s love and faithfulness with you in Risking Rest: Embracing God’s Love Through Life’s Uncertainties.
