“Christ is King”: the royal identity of Jesus is highlighted in Pope Pius XI encyclical, Quas Primas, “On First Things.”

In this presentation, Fr. Bellusci will consider the universal implications of the title “Christ is King” — the Church’s missionary call to evangelisation, spreading the Gospel of salvation across all continents, proclaiming the Kingship of Christ, the “Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

The kingship of Christ is at three levels, the personal encounter with Christ, the building of Christ’s kingdom on earth, and the eternal kingdom where Christ reigns as Everlasting King.

Pope Pius XI highlighted the universal kingship of Christ with the Solemnity that was proclaimed following the encyclical, “Christ, King of the Universe.” This presentation celebrates the centenary of the Encyclical’s publication (1925-2025) and acknowledges Christ, sovereign King over the universe.

Please make sure to bring all your questions, enthusiasm, and a friend to enjoy the evening with you. See you there!
