Description
The 15th century was the golden age of polyphony in Europe and this concert brings music of some of the era’s greatest masters from Italy, England and Spain – Palestrina’s “Stabat Mater,” Victoria’s “Magnificat primi toni,” “The Lamentations of Jeremiah” by Thomas Tallis, other pieces by Byrd and Lotti, and even a peek into the Baroque in Monteverdi’s “Tears of the lover at the grave of his beloved.”
