Join Dr. Joel Korytko as he discusses, “When does Translating Change the Meaning of Scripture? How the Translator of Greek Exodus (and Jesus?) Aligns Biblical Law to Fit His Culture.”

Dr. Joel Korytko received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Oriental Studies from the University of Oxford. His research focuses on Greek translations of the Hebrew Bible, particularly Exodus. The interface between translation and culture, especially as it relates to Jewish law and its interpretation in the Hellenistic context, has guided his research and publications in Exodus. His work opens up questions as to how the translators engaged with the Hebrew scriptures and how their interpretations affect the way we view ancient Judaism and Christianity.
